Dusty LaBar has been with The Builders Group for over six years, steadily climbing the ranks from in the field to his current role as North Alabama Market VP. His journey is a reflection of the grit, adaptability, and work ethic that TBG is built on. With a foundation in hands-on building experience and a passion for leadership, Dusty understands what it takes to move a home from dirt to drywall—and a team from good to great. Whether he’s troubleshooting a job site issue, fielding a tough question from a buyer, or rallying his team through a deadline, he’s the one people turn to when something just needs to get done.

His favorite part of the homebuilding process is the moment drywall goes up—when the vision starts to take shape and buyers can finally see their home coming together. He’s deeply focused on customer experience and is especially skilled at simplifying complex build steps for buyers. For anyone building their first home, his advice is clear: define your non-negotiables versus your wants, and be honest with your budget. Smart planning upfront makes for a smoother journey.

Dusty describes his work ethic in three words: keep moving forward. That mindset fuels everything he does—from early morning meetings to after-hours site visits. He’s a hands-on leader who believes in empowering others, setting clear expectations, and being the kind of team player who leads by doing. He’s also known for bringing a grounded perspective to high-stress situations, helping both homeowners and teammates stay focused on what really matters.

Outside of work, Dusty leans into family time, weekend rounds of golf, and the occasional deep dive into conspiracy theories (he’s not entirely convinced we landed on the moon). His recall skills are bizarrely good—he can rattle off random facts or job history details no one else remembers, which somehow always comes in handy. You’ll rarely catch him without an energy drink in hand, preferably a red Rockstar Zero, and he’s unapologetically loyal to dogs over cats. When it comes to leading teams and building homes, Dusty brings energy, consistency, and a commitment to making every build better than the last.
